Minutes of the Operating Committee of the America First Party
Tuesday, September 16, 2003
BE IT REMEMBERED that the Operating Committee of the America First Party met on Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, pursuant to the previous resolution of the Operating Committee.
The Secretary called the roll of Operating Committee members:
Present:
- John Pittman Hey of Mississippi, Secretary
- Maureen McHugh of Illinois, Treasurer
- Jon Hill of Massachusetts, Finance Committee Chairman
Absent:
- Trey Golmon of Mississippi, Ballot Access Committee Chairman
- Romelle Winters of New Hampshire, Public Relations Committee Chairman
A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order by the Secretary.
The Secretary led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Mr. Hill delivered the invocation.
The Committee discussed the need to call a meeting of the National Committee to finalize some convention-related matters. Mrs. McHugh moved a Resolution to call a teleconference meeting of the National Committee for Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at 9 p.m. East Coast time. Her Resolution was seconded by Mr. Hill and adopted by unanimous vote.
A detailed discussion was had regarding the location and menu of the proposed dinner on Saturday evening, October 25 in Chicago. Mrs. McHugh will issue two proposals for the consideration of the National Committee at its meeting next week.
A long discussion was held regarding the party building needs for the party. Several ideas were discussed regarding the handling of new prospects and getting them involved immediately upon contact.
There being no further business, upon motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mrs. McHugh, and adopted by unanimous vote, the Secretary declared the meeting adjourned.
