Minutes of the Operating Committee of the America First Party
Tuesday, April 3, 2007
BE IT REMEMBERED that the Operating Committee of the America First Party met on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 9:00 p.m. East Coast Time, pursuant to the previous resolution of the Operating Committee.
The Chairman led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Hey delivered the invocation.
The Secretary called the roll of Operating Committee members:
- Jon Hill of Massachusetts, Chairman
- Martin McClellan of Florida, Vice-chairman
- John Hey of Mississippi, National Secretary and Treasurer
- J. C. Schweingrouber of Ohio, Public Relations Committee Chairman
- Peter Browning of Florida, Party Building Committee Chairman
- Mike Fleharty of Ohio, Ballot Access Committee Chairman
- Joe Spitzig of Ohio, Platform Committee Chairman
Tom White of Massachusetts, Candidates Committee Chairman, joined the meeting after the roll had been taken.
A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 9:23 p.m.
Mr. McClellan moved the adoption of the standard Agenda. Mr. Schweingrouber seconded the motion. The Agenda was adopted by unanimous consent.
The Chairman delivered his report. The donor thank-you letter for the month was prepared. The Chairman is working on a pamphlet to promote party building activism. He has been doing some research regarding party issues.
The Secretary reminded the members that he had previously circulated draft minutes for the March 27, 2007 meeting of the Operating Committee. Mr. Hey moved the adoption of the minutes as published. His motion was seconded by Mr. Schweingrouber. The minutes were adopted by unanimous vote.
The Secretary reported that all the end of the month processes and letters have been prepared and will be mailed shortly.
The Treasurer reported that the party's bank balance is $ 8,293.41. There are no outstanding unpaid invoices due at this time. This month's FEC report has been prepared and filed.
Mr. Browning delivered the Party Building Committee report. He has been fielding a number of calls from interested prospects. A discussion took place regarding the process of joining the party and difficulties arising in various states regarding the required forms.
Mr. Schweingrouber delivered the Public Relations Committee report. The newspaper is ready to be approved and sent to the printer.
Mr. Hey reported that the Rules Committee is presently on hiatus.
A time of general discussion took place.
There being no further business, on motion made by Mr. Hey, seconded by Mr. Browning, and adopted by unanimous vote, the meeting was adjourned at 10:41.
