Minutes of the Operating Committee of the America First Party
Monday, August 27, 2007
BE IT REMEMBERED that the Operating Committee of the America First Party met on Monday, August 27, 2007 at 9:00 p.m. East Coast Time, pursuant to the previous resolution of the Operating Committee.
The Chairman led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Hey delivered the invocation.
The Secretary called the roll of Operating Committee members:
- Jon Hill of Massachusetts, Chairman
- John Hey of Mississippi, National Secretary and Treasurer
- J. C. Schweingrouber of Ohio, Public Relations Committee Chairman
- Tom White of Massachusetts, Candidates Committee Chairman
- Martin McClellan of Florida, Vice-chairman
- Mike Fleharty of Ohio, Ballot Access Committee Chairman
- Joe Spitzig of Ohio, Platform Committee Chairman
A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 9:25 p.m.
Mr. Schweingrouber moved the adoption of the standard Agenda. Mr. White seconded the motion. The Agenda was adopted by unanimous consent.
The Chairman delivered his report. He discussed issues relating to the management of organizing committees, as well as a press release that will go out shortly.
The Secretary reminded the members that he had previously circulated draft minutes for the July 30, 2007 meeting of the Operating Committee. Mr. Hey moved the adoption of the minutes as published. His motion was seconded by Mr. White. The minutes were adopted by unanimous vote, Mr. Schweingrouber abstaining.
The Treasurer reported that the party's bank balance is $ 6,879.84. There are no outstanding unpaid invoices due at this time.
The Treasurer reminded the members that he needs authorization to get the special envelopes for the newspaper printed.
Mr. Hill reported that the Finance Committee is considering approval to spend money to print newspaper envelopes.
Mr. Hill reported that the Partybuilding Committee will be meeting Tuesday evening to discuss organizing committee business and progress in Oregon.
Mr. Schweingrouber delivered the Public Relations Committee report. A final version of the newspaper has been circulated and the committee will approve it shortly.
Mr. Hey reported that the Rules Committee will be meeting Thursday evening to take up several possible rules changes.
There being no further business, on motion made by Mr. Schweingrouber, seconded by Mr. Hey, and adopted by unanimous consent, the meeting was adjourned at 10:02 p.m.
