Minutes of the Operating Committee of the America First Party
Monday, November 12, 2007
BE IT REMEMBERED that the Operating Committee of the America First Party met on Monday, November 12, 2007 at 9:00 p.m. East Coast Time, pursuant to the previous resolution of the Operating Committee.
The Chairman led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Hey delivered the invocation.
The Secretary called the roll of Operating Committee members:
- Jon Hill of Massachusetts, Chairman
- John Hey of Mississippi, National Secretary and Treasurer
- J. C. Schweingrouber of Ohio, Public Relations Committee Chairman
- Tom White of Massachusetts, Candidates Committee Chairman
- Martin McClellan of Florida, Vice-chairman
- Mike Fleharty of Ohio, Ballot Access Committee Chairman
- Joe Spitzig of Ohio, Platform Committee Chairman
A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 9:28 p.m.
Mr. White moved the adoption of the standard Agenda. Mr. Schweingrouber seconded the motion. The Agenda was adopted by unanimous vote.
The Chairman delivered his report. The party issued a press release earlier today commenting on the recent endorsement by so-called "Christian conservative" leaders of pro-abortion candidates. He discussed an upcoming press release on inflation.
The Secretary reminded the members that he had previously circulated draft minutes for the October 29, 2007 meeting of the Operating Committee. Mr. Hey moved the adoption of the minutes as published. His motion was seconded by Mr. Schweingrouber. The minutes were adopted by unanimous vote.
The Treasurer reported that the party's bank balance is $ 6,033.47. There are no unpaid invoices at this time.
The Partybuilding Committee will be meeting soon to discuss the conflict in the rules regarding access to the partybuilding database by organizing committee members.
Mr. Schweingrouber stated that he will be calling a Public Relations Committee meeting sometime in the next two weeks to continue work on the next newspaper.
Mr. Hey reported that the Rules Committee is presently on hiatus. A discussion took place regarding the question of who should have access to the party database in states with organizing committees.
A time of general discussion took place on the subject of motivating patriots to fight to restore our country.
There being no further business, on motion made by Mr. Hey, seconded by Mr. White, and adopted by unanimous consent, the meeting was adjourned at 10:25 p.m.
