REP. TRAFICANT SET TO SPEAK AT FOUNDING NATIONAL CONVENTION AS PARTY GROWTH CONTINUES

Boulder, CO - Ohio Congressman James Traficant has accepted an invitation to address the America First Party Founding Convention, August 8-11 in Orlando, FL. The convention is open to the public. Those interested in attending should got to our website (http://www.americafirstparty.org) or call our toll-free number 1-866-SOS-USA1 for complete information.

The newly formed America First Party continues its astonishing growth rate, placing new candidates on the ballot, and continuing to unite patriots disaffected from the other parties and looking for a political home. "We are energized by the overwhelming response to our message and our grassroots approach. Folks want a government that plays by the rules, one they don't have to fear," said Party Building Co-Chair Gene Lovell of Georgia.

Interim National Chair Dan Charles said, "The America First Party is built on a set of principles. James Traficant has proven himself a persuasive and forceful advocate for the commonsense truths that elude so many of his colleagues. These truths resonate with everyday Americans in their daily lives and interactions. They are expressed in our party's Founding Principles."

Mr. Charles continued, "Traficant promotes in both word and deed public policies supported by America First Party members. He is a tireless promoter of the abolition of the IRS, securing of our borders, the restoration of Constitutionalism, the return of responsible and open government, and trade policies that are in the best interest of our nation's working people. He warned Americans of all stripes of the dangers of a loss of sovereignty through bad trade deals like NAFTA and GATT, and an overreaching global government. He sought to alert all Americans of an increasingly hostile China and the corruption it has sown in our election process."

The America First Party's organizing committee in Ohio played an instrumental role in petitioning Congressman Traficant onto the ballot as an independent candidate for reelection. Chairman Charles continued, "We are proud that our people in Ohio stepped up to the plate for the Congressman. Notwithstanding his current problems with a corrupt and politically charged judicial process, we know he is one of the strongest advocates for America First principles and priorities. His current experience is prima-facie evidence that the Justice Department and court system have forgotten the Bill of Rights and the notion of basic fairness. They deserve to be feared, not respected."

In the three months since the America First National Committee was established, the number of affiliated state parties has grown to twelve, and there are organizing committees set up in another 15 states. Thousands of dollars have been donated, all without solicitation, and the award winning website has gotten nearly 150,000 hits.
