Help Hurricane Katrina's Victims
Boulder, CO - On Monday, August 29, 2005 Hurricane Katrina pounded the
Gulf Coast states of Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. On Tuesday,
August 30, the America First National Committee met and passed a
resolution calling upon all Party members and the American people to
reach out to our fellow Americans in this time of great tragedy.
National Chair Dan Charles said, "The devastation wrought by Hurricane
Katrina is almost unimaginable. Hundreds of thousands of our fellow
citizens have been displaced from their homes, many businesses have
been destroyed, and cultural treasures now sit under a soup of sewage
and seawater. Whole communities are in pain."
Mr. Charles continued, "However, the American people are a generous,
compassionate, and resilient people. Together, we will overcome the
chaos and great loss in the wake of this tragedy. We ask individual
Americans to do whatever is in their power to help in this time of
great need. President Bush must act now and return the National Guard
from Iraq. By sending their state militias overseas, the President has
stripped the Governors of the means to enforce the law, stabilize the
situation, and rescue citizens currently in harm's way."
National Party Building Chair Tom White added, "In the aftermath of
Hurricane Katrina these past few days, our hearts cry out for those
affected. There is great need for food, water, and shelter. The
devastation is wide; this will be a long-term situation. Each of us can
help provide for the needs of our fellow Americans, by simply donating
the cost of a few meals to private organizations helping in the effort.
They need our help. We cannot bring back those whose lives have been
lost, but we can help those who have survived."

organizations involved in providing assistance. Follow the links and
give generously.
The America First Party was founded in April 2002 and is focused on
electing principled citizen statesmen who will preserve and protect our
people and our sovereignty, promote economic growth and independence,
encourage the traditional values of faith, family, and responsibility,
ensure equality before the law in protecting those rights granted by
the Creator, and clean up our corrupted political system. In 2004, the
AFP elected two-thirds of its candidates to public office.
