GOP Gets Spanked, But Will Principled Voters Learn?

Boulder, CO - The 2006 election results highlighted the consequence of misguided Republican policies which fail to put America First, and showed that GOP leaders are out of step with grassroots America. After years of expending political capital on an unnecessary and inappropriate war, and years of neglecting the nation's interest with regard to immigration, trade policy, fiscal policy, and the right to life, many former Republican voters finally turned away from the GOP in disgust. Amen!

The long-term trend of GOP government policies clearly shows that Americans who value decency, a limited role for government, and constitutional principles are at odds with the direction of that party. The GOP has been shooting them in the back.

Press Secretary JC Schweingrouber stated, "Many principled voters fail to see that their long-term electoral compromises are making the nation's politics degenerate more quickly. This is partly because they have failed to organize candidates and movements around their principles. Backed into a corner as a result, they find it necessary to make pathetic compromises under the 'lesser-of-two-evils' principle."

Chairman Jon Hill stated, "We are the alternative to the present failing 'conservative' strategy. We offer concerned Americans the opportunity to organize around a set of principles which have long been the foundation of the success and greatness of our Republic. By avoiding the failed strategies of other third parties, and exploiting our opportunities and skills, we know that our success is a realistic possibility."

The America First Party was founded in April 2002 and is focused on electing principled citizen statesmen who will preserve and protect our people and our sovereignty, promote economic growth and independence, encourage the traditional values of faith, family, and responsibility, ensure equality before the law in protecting those rights granted by the Creator, and clean up our corrupted political system.
