Holiday's Over, Senate Sellout Continues, Time to Act!

Boulder, CO -- Following a Memorial Day vacation about 3 times longer than afforded the average American worker, the US Senate has resumed its efforts to destroy respect for the rule of law and devalue those who work hard and play by the rules. The America First Party urges rejection of so-called "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" and calls on Congress to authorize the funding to secure our borders and enforce existing law.

The proposed Z-Visa is an amnesty visa specifically for illegals. One of its absurd requirements is being illegally present in the U.S. on January 1st and on the date of the visa application. A Z-Visa would allow immigration law violators to live and work in the U.S. for two years penalty-free. If this is not amnesty, then clearly nothing is.

It should be expected that many loyal citizens who care about respect for the rule of law and sound government policy will oppose this bill. By stating that such people "don't want to do what's right for America," the President has made his disdain for decent Americans explicit. This condescension is also seen in his associates, who refer to bill opponents as "bigots" who need to be "shut up," "anti-immigrant," and national chauvinists. Fanatical devotion to a mass immigration policy is the likely motivation for these remarks.

The American people need to stand for reason and prudence in opposing this entire amnesty package. This is not the time to surrender to those who wish to illegally invade our nation. Granting this proposed mass amnesty allows foreign invaders to trample our national sovereignty and increases our government's already massive entitlement program liabilities - now at about $50 trillion. Given their limited schooling, the lifetime cost in public services of amnesty for 12 to 20 million illegals could be in the hundred of trillions. This is fiscally irresponsible!

All citizen patriots should keep up the pressure on their congressmen to oppose amnesty, secure the borders, enforce existing laws, and return the immigration rate to the sustainable rates of the last century. Please visit our web site of the week here to send free faxes to your senators.
