Defend American Independence - Oppose the SPP
Boulder, CO -- To all citizens who will soon be celebrating the 231st
anniversary of our nation's independence, the America First Party expresses
grave concern that our cherished freedom and independence is threatened by a
gradual and stealthy process of trilateral "integration" under the auspices
of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, now being
promoted by the Bush administration and its counterparts in Canada and
Mexico, as well as private sector groups. Our concern is heightened by the
total absence of congressional oversight and authorization, the lack of
public discussion, and radical recommendations, by persons who are
distinguished in government service, on how the integration should be
implemented.
These recommendations include the establishment of a trilateral "North
America Community by 2010," which would include a "common security
perimeter," a common external tariff, the elimination of most border
controls within North America for "temporary" travelers from outside North
America, a permanent tribunal for trade dispute resolution, conformity of
U.S. regulations with a "North American standard," trilateral gun
registration, a North American version of the Kyoto protocol, and the
transformation of NORAD into a tri-national land, sea, and air command to
defend North America.
Of additional concern is that the Center for Strategic and International
Studies, another group which has advanced the integration cause since 1985,
is scheduled to present proposals for this to all three North American
legislatures on September 30th.
We encourage all to consider the details of this matter, and the evidence
that this agenda is underway, by reading the article "North American
Legislatures to Receive Integration Proposals on September 30th -- Will we
stand by and lose our national sovereignty?"
The United States of America is a Sovereign Republic, subject only to our
Creator and not answering to any alien power or foreign potentate. It is
therefore imperative that we zealously guard and unequivocally maintain the
sovereignty of the United States under all circumstances. Any treaty or
alliance that surrenders national sovereignty is, by law and our
Constitution, utterly null and void.
